I always pictured Katniss Everdeen’s hometown as an unremittingly bleak, monochromatic place — sort of like Cormac McCarthy’s The Road, or like Chino on The O.C. — but I’m intrigued by the film’s portrayal, which looks a little bit like Tom Sawyer’s Island.
